With a record storm of this magnitude, there have been extensive reports of the massive devastation all over the news outlets.
If you travel, this is a time to give back and first help them get back with necessities. Food, water, fuel and then shelter.
After they clean up and rebuild, one way you can help is visiting. Jamaica has 19% of it’s economy from tourism. That huge chunk of economic livelihood will be minimal for the foreseeable future. The only way many residents work is when you visit!
Government estimates of when visitor options will be open is now December 15. As the devastation was not equal across the entire country, you are best to contact the specific region/resort to understand their situation.

Even the major airports had significant damage and will not reach marginal operations for some time. At this point, it is primarily humanitarian and aid flights.
