Copper Mountain made some big splashes last year in the improvement department. This resort does not rest on its laurels; it is just continuous improvement. Keep amping up the experience; there will be more smiles throughout the day. These new features and twists will make it an even better experience this year.
More Uphill/Westward Ho!
Copper expanded the famous Timberline Express chairlift from a 4-banger to a high-speed 6-pack. Copper has been bent on expanding access to the resort’s Western Territory. This lift enhances skier access to the most sought-after, intermediate groomed section of the resort. Dubbed the Timberline Express 2.0, it gets skiers up over 1200 vertical feet. The additional capacity means a 25% increase in skiers up the hill to this prime spot, from beginners to accomplished skiers.
Let The Games Expand
Never resting concerning an athletic endeavor, Copper hosts a new X Games event, the Street Style Pro, on December 20-21. This event coordinates with the Toyota U.S. Grand Prix World Cup halfpipe event, happening Dec. 18-21. It is an amazing event with athletic performances, including nighttime competitions plus live musical sets. While on the hill, you will catch soon-to-be famous athletes and big names. The pressure is on as placing athletes from each event compete in the X Games in Aspen in January 2025.
Chomp Up High
Last season, Copper débuted the spiffy Aerie Mid Mountain Lodge to rave reviews. Amping up the appeal this year, Aerie hosts specialty dinner events this winter season. The views are spectacular, the setting is Colorado luxury, and the food is more than scrumptious. The specialty dinners happen on December 28, January 18, and February 15. Not a skier? The gondola takes you to the top and back down again after dinner.
More On Piste Grins
While Copper may be the athlete’s Mountain, they want everyone to ski/ride better, enhancing their experience. The kid’s program works extensively on the green and blue terrain to the west, letting young boarders and skiers up their skills. Adult lessons get some enhanced traction with their connection to the Over-The-Hill-Gang, the longest-running senior ski program. Copper is one of two resorts in the U.S. with the Woodward Barn, which provides indoor skill initiation and training for future halfpipe medal winners. The only place these future stars can get private lessons, both on and off the hill.
A Sunset Ski to Remember
Nothing beats spring skiing in Colorado, and Copper added a luxury experience twist to late-day fun. Imagine a virtually private ski experience with incredible food at the Aerie Lodge. When the Mountain closes, skiers/riders head up the American Eagle to experience an hour of remarkable descending basking in the alpenglow. After those 60 minutes, back up the Eagle and partake in a special dinner with music at 11,200 feet. Reservations are needed for this special event on either March 15 or April 19.
